Each year, St. Michael’s Parish offers a meaningful opportunity to explore the Catholic faith through a time of preparation, prayer, and discernment. Whether you’re unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or simply seeking to deepen your understanding of the Catholic Church, we welcome you to begin this sacred journey.
Our OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) sessions will be held weekly on Sundays, beginning late September and continuing through Holy Week in April 2026.
This time of formation is a vital step toward entering fully into the life of the Catholic Church. While we understand that occasional absences may happen, regular attendance is essential—each session builds on the last, forming a foundation for spiritual growth and understanding.
Becoming Catholic is not just about learning doctrine; it’s about opening your heart, mind, and soul to Jesus Christ and His Church—rooted in Scripture, history, and tradition. This is your journey, and Christ walks with you every step of the way.
We invite you to take this step in faith.
If you would like to learn more about the Catholic Faith or information on our OCIA classes, please contact Harriett Cariaga at faithformation@stmichaelsnohomish.org
An adapted version of the OCIA process is available for children 7 years of age or older who have not been baptized.
The preparation process is intended to help the child or youth develop a real, lasting relationship with Christ and help the whole family find support for a life of faith in a parish community.
Parents, or the adults taking this role, are their children's first and most important teachers. Therefore, the full participation of parents or guardians is essential in the journey of children to full initiation into the Catholic Church.
